Brilliant Smart Home Control Panel

Last year, I was watching a youtube video on creating a smart home and I ran across the Brilliant Smart Home Control light switch. I was like, “ooooh that's pretty sweet, I’m a need one of those for my room”. I mean, it’s so much more than a light switch and definitely overkill for most people but for me, it’s perfect! It combines a light switch, smart home activities and a digital photo frame into a device the size of a light switch fixture.
I got the Brilliant Smart Home Control Device. It’s packed with so many features to control your home. The first thing I did to personalize the device was to change the frame from white to black. There are other color options to choose from too. I’ll link the different options here. You can also connect your Sonos speakers and play music and create playlist from different streaming services. As far as the lights are concerned, it turns your regular light switch into a smart light switch. It connects to many smart light products and you can control them via the smart home device. I have my Philips Hue bulbs connected and I can create scenes for certain situations. I create a movie scene where I want the light dimmed to 5% while I’m watching TV or playing video games. I plan to add some different scenes once I get my lights connected to my Ps5.

It has a built in Alexa and can become a feed for an Amazon Ring doorbell (if you’re going the Amazon Smart Home route) and you can even open the door via a smart door lock. Another feature is the ability to control the temperature of your home’s thermostat from the control panel. I’m able to control the temperature of my Ecobee thermostats. If you have multiple home control devices, you can video chat or use the intercom between the devices. This would be very useful to get the kids attention when dinner is ready! There’s also a privacy cover you can use to cover the camera. My favorite feature is the digital photo frame. I love looking at the pictures of my kids instead of a switch.
The installation was pretty simple. I followed the instructions that came in the box. I’m no expert and I was able to install and get it up and running in about 30 minutes. As always, if you don’t feel comfortable installing it yourself, hire an electrician to connect it for you. Better to be safe than sorry!
The device is awesome and I’m totally enjoying it. It’s definitely an upgrade from the original switch I had in there. There’s so much you can do with the Home Control Center. The light switch comes with quite the price tag though. It retails for $299.99 and you’re able to purchase from Amazon.
